CONTEST DESCRIPTION

We know recessions are painful, and this one is going to be tougher than most since it comes after a time of such unprecedented global growth. Millions of people have already been bitten by the western growth and consumerism bug, and now it’s being snatched away from them.

But everything has its silver lining and in the case of the Recession, it’s potentially an opportunity to look at the way our global economy and society works… or doesn’t… and what that means for the health of our planet. So we at Artevist think it’s time to start looking at the Recession as potentially the transformational event this planet needs, or perhaps a catalyst to many.

So if you have an idea for a design that tackles the avarice and rampant consumerism that got us into this mess, or have thoughts on world trade, corporate greed, peak oil or bailouts to Hummer and SUV builders, then enter the “Recession: you say it as if It’s a bad thing!” Contest. You could win $700 + 7% Royalty for your work.

 CONTEST GUIDELINES

We're looking for one-sided or two-sided designs. The contest runs until the end of March, and we'll select the design with the highest total score. Depending on the response, we may select more than one.

What You Can Do

• It's completely up to you as long as it's a design that comments in some way on the current economic 'condition', so that should give you lots of options. Remember, if it doesn't, you can always enter your design in our Monthly General Selection Contest.

What You Can't Do

• Read our User Agreement on prohibited content, as it's all there. Just be nice and don't give a lawyer a reason to call you. However, you can test that one if you like.
