Design Submission Guidelines
Read
Approach an Artevist design contest as you would any professional design assignment. Take time to think about what you want to achieve, then design and refine until you feel it's perfect. There's no rush, and a well developed design will do better than one that was hurried.
You should review the Contest Details, User Agreement and FAQ regarding submitting work to Artevist.
When you submit work, you agree to these terms.
The most important rules you must follow are that your submission:
Artevist has a '0' Tolerance Policy towards copyright © infringement. |
Design
Artevist is committed to reproducing your artwork only on eco-friendly fibres, using very low-impact printing methods. That lets us sleep better at night, and we think it results in a much better Tee. Learn more and understand what's behind some of our design guidelines in About Our Products.

ThemesArtevist is about bringing amazing graphic design to BIG Issues. Make it local or global, but keep in mind, the more universal the theme, the broader will be its appeal. We're not interested in predominantly text-based designs. Wicked typography and illustration is another matter, and we love that. |

Submit
We've kept our submission process simple, so that 'you' decide how to best present your work.
Examples
Here are some ways you could present your work:
|
Most designs work best centred on the shirt. If so, showing your design as large as possible is best. |
If your design needs special positioning, indicate that with a small insert. |
Or, present your design on a T-shirt background. |
|
Indicating the colours you've used or optional T-shirt backgrounds is great. |
You can even apply your design onto a photograph. *Please be sure you have the right to use that image! |
If your design is double-sided, you'll still need to submit it as a single image, indicating which is which. |
Copyright Protection
|
|
We believe the use of watermarks and copyrights do little to prevent truly malicious use, and they hurt the presentation, so we prefer not to use them. However, you're free to add your own marks if you like. We 'do' encourage you to sign your work (preferably your real name) for additional protection. |
|
Rejection of Submissions
We try to approve designs within 24 hours of receiving them.
In addition to prohibited content outlined in the User Agreement, your design could be rejected for Quality Reasons. These are some of the most common:
|
Overall poor presentation. |
Pixelation or poor image quality. |
You should be sure of your work before uploading it. We won't allow revisions unless the design is substantially different from previous submissions. |
Participate
We select designs based largely on visitor feedback (scoring and comments), so get your friends, family and admirers to vote! You can use any means you like to promote your design.
When you submit your design, we'll give you a URL address and a simple to use email form to help you tell people about it.
We usually approve designs within 48 hours of receiving them. Once your design is approved, check-in often to see how it's doing, and while you're here, please comment and vote on the work of others.
Depending on the Contest, your design will be viewable on Artevist for up to six months, which means you have plenty of time to promote it. If you've entered into the Monthly General Selection, your design could still be chosen, even if it isn't selected in the month you submitted it in.
Keep in mind that we're looking for great design, and not personal popularity contests. We look at member activity and voting patterns very carefully when making our selections, and don't look kindly upon vote-rigging through:
- Membership Manipulation: the creation of false member accounts
- Non-objective Voting: a submission that is consistently receiving only '10's
- Malicious Voting: the worst - intentionally giving competing designs a low score
