We really like Grist.org out of Seattle, WA. It's a little skewed toward US content, but still has something for everyone, and their writing style is spot on.

Artevist Tees in NYC for Orphans International Worldwide

T-shirt designers come to the aid of Haitian orphans in inaugural New York fashion show and auction.

New York City's chic Ultra Lounge was the site of "Designed to a Tee", a t-shirt-themed fundraising event organized by Orphans International Worldwide (OIWW) in support of their work for children in countries such as Haiti, Indonesia and Tanzania.

Several designers entered the T-shirt judging competition, presided over by designers from Project Runway, while others, such as Artevist, donated tees to the fundraising auction. We're happy to say our Artevist Tees were all snatched up quickly.

The event raised $1800 for OIWW, with close to 200 people attending to see great T-shirt design, support an excellent organization, and be entertained by the likes of poetry slammer Orveous Maximus from the Apollo Theater. OIWW hopes to make this a yearly event. Our thanks to Linda Stanley and Anna Lekas of OIWW for finding us and including us in their work.
